We are an activewear created for women, by women. We put women at the heart of every design, with women’s changing bodies and physiological needs in mind. Our purpose is to support comfort, movement, and confidence through every stage of life.

For women who lift, stretch, run, and move through everyday life, we bring together comfort, performance, and style so you feel supported in your body and confident in what it can do.

Our founder story

Founded in June 2026 by Dr. Christelle Giraneza Uwantege, Shield Active brings together her medical background and passion for women’s health and movement.

As a medical doctor, Christelle understands that being active goes beyond appearance. It is about building strength, supporting health, and feeling capable in everyday life. She started Shield Active with a clear purpose: to create activewear that puts women’s bodies and movement needs at the heart of design.

Combining comfort, performance, and style, Shield Active is built to support women through strength training, walks, workouts, and everyday movement. Her vision is to grow a brand where women feel considered, supported, and confident to show up for themselves.

How we design

Our first batch brings together six categories of essentials: bras, tops, jackets, leggings, shorts and jumpsuits, including maternity pieces from our Shield Mama line.
